La Dolce Vita

So, I found this book called “Living La Dolce Vita: Bring the passion, laughter, and serenity of Italy into your daily life” laying around the “PLEASE TAKE” table at work. First thoughts that popped up in my head: 1) “La Dolce Vita” is one of my favorite sayings!, 2) wait, is this a self-help book? Oh, hell no!, 3) What do I have to lose (besides my precious time)? I’m going to take a chance and judge the book by it’s cover and say it’s probably going to be a cute book.

Therefore, I’ve decided to read my first ever “advice” type book. Why not!? There’s a first time for everything. I’m just hoping the book won’t be too cheesy or cliche that I’ll stop reading after the first chapter.

But so far so good. I skimmed through the introduction and found this…

In a nutshell, the nine “Made in Italy” principles for living la dolce vita are:

1. Keep family ties alive and positive.

2. Make time for old friends and for making new ones.

3. Make love a part of everything you say and do in life.

4. Keep the dinnertime focus on good nutrition and good relationships.

5. Take care of your money, but remember what true wealth is.

6. Always put your best foot forward in all situations.

7. Improve your communication skills to improve your relationships.

8. Reconnect to God to gain meaning and appreciation for your life.

9. Cultivate a positive attitude, it will change your life.
